or path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

    In Blue across the top

c:Documents and SettingsBarryLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5M1vMOC17Launch.ica

Have uncheked hidden files, but is shaded so will not “uncheck” . . . all of a sudden, can’t open or read important documents . . .

Bottom Line is I need system to be able to read and find hidden files . . . (i think) Ha

    Thanks for your help

It seems you are using Citrix server, which I have no experience with at all.

Besides these links then there is little I can do for you:

    Error: ICA File Not Found

Windows cannot open this file: launch.ica

How do I keep the launch.ica files on my computer

I recommend you find a forum for Citrix servers and how to run applications on them.

THIS IS NOT SPECIFIC TO CITRIX, it happens with other apps as well . . .

The problem is “HOW do I make my temporary internet files “Not Hidden” . . . clicking the checkbox does not work, it is shaded . . . it is not discriminatory in nature, it applies across the board . . .

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

Only Windows Explorer reacts to the setting “Show hidden files and folders”, which restricts the files you can see. All other programs can access all files hidden or not.

Maybe you have been infected with spyware, malware, virus or worse. Scan and clean your machine and if that doesn’t solve it then you might try to import the following registry key from another computer with the same Windows version (guess it should be Windows 2000):

    HKCUsoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversionexploreradvanced

More Info Unable to click show hidden files and folders
