    Hi I dont know if this forum is still alive since the last post is mine few month ago

    I have problem with windows profiles…If I establish an new account no new files or folders are created in the Documents and settings directory, of course I cannt logint into such account and win freezes on the welcome screen

    Anyone could help?

    The forum is as much “alive” as it has always been :), though at the moment most of my focus is on moving the contents of my site in to a blog.

    When creating a new account then one is actually just allowing a username to login with a certain password. The folder for the new account is first created when the user actually performs the login with the account (Uses the template from the default user account).

    Are there any messages in the Event Log ?

    Can you perform the login in safemode ?

    Have you checked for malware / virus ?

    You was right…I had missing Default User folder so it could not be used as a template. So I just copied it from a friend and everything works again

    I have couple of new questions…

    1) if I delete some account, the files of this account remain in the documents and settings folder and have to be deleted manualy… why? Can they be deleted automatically when I remove that account?

    2)I want my ftp server to be started everytime I boot with low priority. I know the start command but the ftp server is started as a system service…is it somehow possible to set it should start with certain priorities?

    3)Third question is little bit out…:) But why you just dont ban that idiots who are spamming here?

    Nice to know that without your default user account, then creating a new user and login with that user will fail.

    Have no idea, never create and delete accounts on a regular basis. Guess you could create script executed at logon which delete user-directories that doesn’t match any user accounts.

    You cannot change the priority of a service using the operating system. You have to configure the service itself to change its process priority to low.

    This “free” forum (spend some costly time on deleting spam) doesn’t have the ability to ban an IP (And an IP can be faked). Believe they are working on a new version of the forum-software with some spam-protection, but they have missed their dead-line several times because of bugs.

    I’m working on creating a new site based on the blog-software WordPress and the forum software BBpress (Has spam protection). When this is complete then I will close down this forum, and copy the contents to the new site.
