I have Home Premium and I hate the little preview windows/thumbnails on the taskbar, but can’t get rid of them. Help?

    Thanks, Jeanie

Just right-click the Start-menu button in the taskbar and select “Properties”. In the new window select the Taskbar-fan uncheck “Show window previews (thumbnails)”

P.S. Moved your question / comment into the Forum

Thank you for moving me to the Forum. Unfortunately I can’t do what you suggest because my “Show window previews (thumbnails)” is greyed out, and it is already unchecked and I can’t do anything to it. I have searched everywhere but no one has been able to help me. Whine whine waaaaaaa!

Seems that this check box is only available when Aero is turned on. Little weird that the functionality is working eventhough not enabled.

What happens if you Turn on the Aero Interface ?

Are you running things like ITunes or Google Desktop, which are known to cause trouble with Aero ? (Atleast older versions)

Sorry, I’m not smart enough to follow the steps to turn on the Aero interface. (Don’t even know what/where the registry keys are.) Yes I am running Google Desktop. Thank you.

Just do the part called “Turn on the Aero Interface”:

    1. Right click the desktop and select “Personalize”.
    2. Choose “Window Color and Appearance”.
    3. Click the blue link titled “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”.
    4. Change the color-scheme to “Windows Aero”.

What version of Google Desktop are you running ?
