    ERROR MESSAGE 80070002

I have windows 7 professional x64 and have a terrible time downloading, much less installing updates error messgae 80070002

I sometimes have success by deleting the Software Distribution folder in C:Windows and then rebooting and then setting my computer to auto install at the next closest hour

When I was checking Component Services to see what might be running that didn’t need to be and vis-versa, I found that in trying to start mcx2svc, I found the same error message and found that it had strange dependencies for being the tv extender for WMP.

    Any ideas???

I have read, saved and tried about 20 different fixes. Oh, I have never been able to access anything manually from microsoft since buying W7

    Thanks, MF

Have you tried the all the suggestions listed by Microsoft:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-80070002

I can see you have tried to delete the SoftwareDistribution folder, but what happens if you try the other suggestions ?
