I wonder if it is possible to change the windows codepage per session?

What I want to do is to be able to connect to 3 different oracle instaances with 3 different character set. I have to change the Oracle NLS_LANG according to the windows codepage. But ptoblem is that I want to shnage the nls-lang and codepage per session to be able to run my application from a cmd window. The NLS_LANG will be set up the user regional options will be set into the registry keys for the user. But the codepage? Changing codepage will need a reboot. and it will be valid for all the users using the workstation. But This is not what I want. I want to have different codepages for different users. Is it possible?

    Thanks for all help

So you have no problem with configuring NLS_LANG per user, but also want to be able to configure the cmd codepage per user ?

I guess a possible solution is to combine these two tips:

Change codepage in Windows NT (mode con cp select=850)

Specify what commands to be run when opening a command prompt (HKEY_CURRENT_USER)

    Hi, Thanks for the answer!

using the tips is greate. but there is one problem. This way I just change the OEM codepage. But the application I am running is probably using the NLS.

I wonder what code page it will use when I start it from the dos command prompt.

well I simply have to test it.

Is there any way to change the NLS jsut for the current user?

I mean the NLS (default language codepge for the system) is 1252. I have to chnage it for one user to 1250 and for some other user to 1251.

    Is it possible?

    Thanks again!

I have little knowledge about running multilingual/multiLanguage windows, so my ability to help is kind of limited.

Maybe the option to install several keyboards(input locales) for a single machine and change between them will give the effect of changing the codepage.

Else you probably have to look into getting into this special MUI build of WinXP/Win2k:
